Who might be able to join this trial:

• You are between 18 and 75 years old
• You have been diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome based on your symptoms, a physical examination, and a nerve test called an EMG
• You have come to an outpatient clinic seeking physical therapy for this condition
• You have no medical reasons that would prevent you from receiving the planned treatment
• You have given your consent to take part in the study

Who may not be able to join:

• You have diabetes
• You have an underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism)
• You have a condition called acromegaly (a hormone disorder causing abnormal growth)
• You have a rheumatic disease (such as rheumatoid arthritis or similar conditions)
• You have a condition affecting multiple nerves in your body (polyneuropathy)
• You have a nerve problem in your shoulder or arm, or have had a traumatic nerve injury in the same arm being considered for the trial
• You have had an injection into your carpal tunnel or physical therapy for this condition in the past 6 months
• You are pregnant
• You have a history of cancer
• You have a cochlear implant (a device implanted in the ear to help with hearing)
• You have HIV/AIDS
• You have had surgery on your neck or shoulder in the past
• You are currently taking corticosteroids (steroid medication) or regular painkiller medication
• You have epilepsy
• You have a skin lesion or wound in the treatment area (confirm with trial site)
