Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are willing to voluntarily sign a consent form agreeing to take part
- People aged 18 to 75 years old (male or female)
- People who have been diagnosed with mild to moderate high blood pressure
- People whose sitting blood pressure reading in the clinic is above 130 mmHg (systolic), and whose average blood pressure over a 24-hour monitoring period is at or above 130 mmHg but below 160 mmHg (systolic)
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose high blood pressure is caused by another underlying medical condition (known as secondary hypertension)
- People who experience a significant drop in blood pressure when standing up (orthostatic hypotension)
- People with Type 1 diabetes, or Type 2 diabetes that is not well controlled
- People who have had a heart attack, stroke, or other heart or brain-related medical event in the 6 months before the screening appointment
- People who have had a serious, uncontrolled irregular heartbeat in the 6 months before the screening appointment
- People who are thought to be allergic to the trial medication or any of its ingredients
- People who have another medical condition (aside from high blood pressure) that requires treatment with a specific class of blood pressure-related medicines called RAAS inhibitors
- People whose blood test results at the screening or baseline stage do not meet the trial's required standards (confirm with trial site for specific values)
- People who have taken any medication that affects blood pressure within the 4 weeks before screening, or who plan to take such medication during the study
