Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People living with Type 1 diabetes (T1D), or a rare form of diabetes that requires insulin, such as Latent Autoimmune Diabetes of Adults (LADA), Maturity-Onset Diabetes of the Young (MODY), or type 3c diabetes (which develops after an injury to or removal of the pancreas).
  • People who are a loved one of someone with T1D or one of the rarer insulin-requiring forms of diabetes mentioned above — for example, a parent, child, spouse, caregiver, or friend.
  • People who are 18 years of age or older.
  • People who live in Canada.
  • People who are able to read the consent form in either English or French.

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who have type 2 diabetes, pre-diabetes, or gestational diabetes, and who have no connection to T1D, LADA, MODY, type 3c, or another rare insulin-requiring form of diabetes.
  • People who are under 18 years old (note: the trial team has mentioned a hope to include younger participants in the future, pending ethics board approvals and appropriate consent processes — confirm with trial site for any updates).
