Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with idiopathic (no known cause) Parkinson's disease within the last 6 months, confirmed by a neurologist who specialises in Parkinson's disease and movement disorders
- People who are able to walk at least 10 metres on their own without any assistance
- People aged between 50 and 80 years old
- People who score above 24 on a standard memory and thinking test called the MMSE

- People whose symptoms or scans suggest a different type of parkinsonism or an alternative diagnosis, such as a condition caused by poor blood flow to the brain or a condition called normal pressure hydrocephalus
- People whose daily Parkinson's medication dose is above a certain level (above 300 mg levodopa equivalent daily dose — confirm with trial site if unsure how this applies)
- People for whom a specific ear-based nerve stimulation treatment (taVNS) would not be safe, for example due to ear injuries or hearing aids (confirm with trial site)
- People for whom an MRI scan would not be safe, for example due to certain pacemakers, implants, or severe claustrophobia
- People with another ongoing neurological, bone or joint, or serious medical or cancer-related condition that could affect participation in the study
- People who have been taking part in another brain or movement rehabilitation program within the last 3 months
