Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults aged 18 or older
- People who are scheduled to have one of the specific procedures included in this study for the very first time
- People scheduled for a minor, low-invasiveness urological procedure that may involve a small needle or tube for access — such as a circumcision, prostate biopsy, or flexible cystoscopy (a camera examination of the bladder)
- People who are able to understand instructions and fill out study questionnaires
- People who have signed a form giving their consent to take part in the study
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have a medical reason that makes the planned urological procedure unsafe for them — for example, an active urinary tract infection or an unusual physical structure in the urinary passage
- People who have recently had certain urological procedures, such as stretching of the urinary passage, a bladder biopsy, or the insertion or removal of an internal tube used to drain the kidney
- People who have a medical condition that makes virtual reality (VR) headset use unsafe, such as uncontrolled light-triggered epilepsy, or certain conditions affecting the nervous system, eyes, or ears
- People living with severe mental health conditions or serious heart or blood vessel disease that could interfere with taking part in the study
- People who have had a bad reaction to using virtual reality in the past
- People who have taken pain-relieving medication in the 24 hours before their procedure
- People taking medications that affect awareness or mental clarity in a way that could prevent them from completing psychological questionnaires
- People with significant difficulties communicating or with serious hearing loss that would prevent them from completing the study questionnaires
