Who might be able to join this trial:
- If you are in the "Case" group: you have been diagnosed with nerve damage caused by diabetes (diabetic peripheral neuropathy) or a long-term nerve condition with no known cause (chronic idiopathic axonal polyneuropathy)
- If you are in the "Control" group: you are a patient being seen or staying at a hospital in Cayenne or Saint-Laurent du Maroni, and you do not have a peripheral nerve condition

- Anyone under 18 years of age
- Anyone who does not wish to take part in the trial
- Anyone who is unable to fill in or complete the study questionnaire
