For patients:
- Adults aged 18 or older
- People who have been avoiding using one arm, hand, or part of their hand in daily life for more than 3 months
- People who have no medical reason preventing them from doing tasks that require physical effort in daily life
- People with finger avoidance issues who show at least 2 signs of this on a specific hand assessment called the "Bilan 400 points" (tests 3 and 4) (confirm with trial site)
- People who are enrolled in a French social security scheme (confirm with trial site)
- People who are able to follow and understand simple instructions
For healthy comparison participants (controls):
- Adults aged 18 or older
- People who have no history of arm or hand problems that left lasting effects
Who may not be able to join:
- People with vision problems
- People with a brain or nervous system condition (such as stroke or multiple sclerosis)
- People with a psychiatric condition that is not currently stable
- People who have difficulty communicating or understanding information
- People who are under legal guardianship or who are unable to give informed consent
- Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding
- People with a neck condition that would make wearing a virtual reality headset unsafe
- People who have epilepsy
- People with an arm or hand condition that is unrelated to the avoidance issue being studied
- People who are unable to stand for 40 minutes
