Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease (PD) based on recognized Chinese diagnostic guidelines, OR you have been diagnosed with or are strongly suspected to have multiple system atrophy (MSA) based on recognized Chinese expert guidelines.
- You are willing to provide samples of blood and saliva, and optionally a sample of spinal fluid, for research purposes.
- You are willing to undergo brain scans (MRI and PET/SPECT imaging) and complete questionnaires or assessments related to your condition.
- You are able and willing to sign a form confirming you understand and agree to take part in the study.
Who may not be able to join:
- Your diagnosis is unclear or uncertain.
- You have a history of stroke, a significant head injury, fluid build-up in the brain, a brain tumor, raised pressure in the skull, or have had brain surgery.
- A brain scan (CT or MRI) has shown evidence of a physical abnormality or injury in the brain.
- You have severe anxiety, severe depression, or schizophrenia.
- You have serious problems with your heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, hormonal system, or blood conditions.
- You have significant difficulty speaking or communicating in a way that would make it hard to complete the study assessments.
- There are concerns that you may not be able to reliably follow the study requirements (confirm with trial site).
