Who may be able to join

  • Adults aged 18 to 75 years, either male or female.
  • People with a laboratory-confirmed diagnosis of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), including types such as adenocarcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, or other NSCLC subtypes.
  • People whose cancer was assessed as stage IIIA or IIIB at the time of first diagnosis, and whose medical team determined that pre-surgery treatment with chemotherapy and immunotherapy followed by surgery was appropriate.
  • People who have already completed 2 to 4 rounds of pre-surgery treatment using a platinum-based chemotherapy combination together with a PD-1 inhibitor (a type of immunotherapy).
  • People who have undergone a specific type of lung surgery that completely removed the tumour, including removal of a lobe or the whole lung along with nearby lymph nodes, with no cancer left at the edges of the removed tissue.
  • People whose post-surgery pathology results show that cancer was still found in lymph nodes in the chest, even though the main tumour was fully removed.
  • People with a general health and activity level rated as 0 or 1 on a standard medical scale, meaning they are either fully active or have only minor limitations on strenuous activity (confirm with trial site).
  • People whose blood counts and kidney and liver function meet the levels required by the trial protocol (confirm with trial site for specific values).
  • People who are able to begin post-surgery radiation therapy and/or ongoing immunotherapy between 4 and 10 weeks after surgery, or after recovering from any post-surgery complications.
  • People who have read and signed a consent form agreeing to take part in the trial.

Who may not be able to join

Each point below is a reason the trial team may not be able to accept someone. It is not a list of requirements to meet.

  • People whose surgery did not fully remove the cancer, meaning cancer cells were found at or near the edges of the removed tissue.
  • People who have previously had radiation therapy to the chest area that would overlap with the treatment area planned in this trial.
  • People who currently have an active infection that is not under control, or who have ongoing immune-related side effects from prior immunotherapy that are rated at a moderate level or above and have not resolved.
  • People with a history of serious autoimmune disease that has required ongoing treatment with medications that suppress the immune system.
  • People with uncontrolled lung disease involving scarring or inflammation of lung tissue.
  • People who have cancer that has spread to the brain or nervous system, where symptoms are present or where the spread has not yet been treated.
  • People with any other condition that the trial doctor believes could put the person at risk or prevent them from safely following the trial requirements.
