Who might be able to join this trial:

• Women aged 18 or older who have recently given birth
• People who have been diagnosed with a blood pressure condition during pregnancy, such as gestational hypertension, chronic hypertension, or preeclampsia (with or without severe features)
• People currently taking Nifedipine 60 mg every 12 hours to manage blood pressure
• People whose blood pressure has remained at or above 140/90 mmHg over a 24-hour period, or who have had at least one reading at or above 160/110 mmHg requiring an additional blood pressure medication
• People who speak English

Who may not be able to join:

• People who were taking two or more blood pressure medications during pregnancy
• People who have a condition called heart block (a problem with the heart's electrical signals)
• People whose resting heart rate is below 60 or above 120 beats per minute
• People who have heart failure
• People with a blood test result showing creatinine levels above 1.5 mg/dL, which can indicate reduced kidney function (confirm with trial site)
• People who have a narrowing of the arteries that supply the kidneys, known as renal artery stenosis
• People with an active connective tissue disease, such as lupus or similar conditions
• People who have had a stroke
• People for whom treatment with nifedipine, enalapril, or labetalol has not worked or is medically unsuitable
