Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are between 18 and 55 years old (including those ages exactly).
- You score 9 points or higher on a standard anxiety questionnaire called the Beck Anxiety Inventory, meaning you have a noticeable level of anxiety.
- You score 11 points or higher on the anxiety section of another standard questionnaire called the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale.
- You score 16 points or higher overall on a questionnaire designed to measure early childhood (pre-language) emotional difficulties, called the DPD questionnaire.
- On specific sections of that same DPD questionnaire, you score at least 5 points in "Desire," at least 5 points in "Satisfaction," and at least 6 points in "Possession/Obsession" (confirm with trial site).
- You show signs of inner emotional conflict based on a test called the Internal Conflict Test, scoring 1 point or higher on a skin tissue measurement scale (confirm with trial site).
- You are willing to follow the study's guidelines and take part in therapy sessions conducted online.
Who may not be able to join:
- You are currently receiving any other form of psychotherapy while the study is running.
- You have taken any psychiatric medications — such as antidepressants, tranquilizers, antipsychotics, or mood stabilisers — in the last 30 days.
- You have been diagnosed with a serious mental health condition that requires specialist psychiatric care or a stay in a psychiatric facility.
- You are currently at acute risk of suicide.
- You have a current problem with alcohol or drug misuse or addiction.
- You do not meet all of the scoring thresholds listed in the joining criteria above.
