Who may be able to join
- Adults aged 18 to 75 years (male or female).
- People with a confirmed diagnosis of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) based on tissue or cell testing.
- People whose NSCLC is at Stage II, IIIA, or IIIB (with a specific lymph node involvement called N2), as classified by a standard staging system called AJCC8.
- People who have not received any treatment for their NSCLC before surgery.
- People whose health and lung function are considered suitable for full surgical removal of the affected area, as assessed by a surgeon.
- People whose cancer does not have specific gene changes known as EGFR mutations or ALK translocation.
- People whose tumour tests positive for a protein called PD-L1 at a level of 1% or higher (TPS ≥ 1%).
- People with at least one tumour that can be measured using standard imaging criteria (RECIST v1.1).
- People with a general health score of 0 or 1 on a standard scale used by doctors to measure how much a condition affects daily activities (ECOG Performance Status).
- People whose liver, kidney, and other organ functions are shown to be at adequate levels during initial screening.
Who may not be able to join
Each point below is a reason the trial team may not be able to accept someone. It is not a list of requirements to meet.
- People whose lung cancer tissue contains certain other cancer types, such as small cell lung cancer, neuroendocrine carcinoma, sarcoma, salivary gland tumour, mesenchymal tumour components, or a mixed type where the main component is squamous cell carcinoma.
- People whose tumour has grown into nearby important structures in the body in a way that is causing symptoms or requires medical treatment.
- People who have a type of lung tumour located at the top of the lung, known as a Pancoast tumour.
- People who have a cancerous tumour nodule in the opposite lung.
- People with known or suspected cancer that has spread to the brain or other parts of the body (metastases).
- People who have taken Chinese herbal medicines, traditional Chinese medicines with anti-tumour properties, or immune-modifying drugs within 2 weeks before the first study treatment dose.
- People who are taking steroid medications (corticosteroids) for an ongoing condition, or any other medicines that suppress the immune system, within 7 days before the first study treatment dose.
- People with serious heart or blood vessel disease, stroke-related conditions, or a history of blood clots within 6 months before the first study treatment dose.
- People with a history of lung inflammation (pneumonitis) that required steroid treatment, significant lung disease, severely reduced lung function, or signs of these conditions seen on imaging during screening.
- People with active or uncontrolled illnesses or health conditions.
- People with a history of immune system deficiency disease.
- People with an active autoimmune disease that required systemic (whole-body) treatment at any point in the 2 years before the first study treatment dose.
