Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You have been diagnosed with diabetic neuropathy (nerve damage caused by diabetes), regardless of gender
  • You are between 45 and 60 years old
  • You have numbness and/or pain in your feet that has no other known cause
  • Your foot pain feels like stabbing, electric shocks, or burning sensations
  • You have unusual or reduced feeling in your hands and/or feet and lower legs
  • You are able to walk on your own without help from another person or a walking aid
  • Your diabetes is currently being managed and monitored by a doctor
  • Your HbA1c (a blood test that measures average blood sugar levels over time) is between 6.5% and 7%
  • You have had diabetes for more than 5 years

Who may not be able to join:

  • You have a cardiac pacemaker or any other electrical device implanted in your body
  • You have certain heart rhythm problems, such as a slow heart rate or irregular heartbeat (confirm with trial site)
  • You have a condition where nerves in your lower back are being pinched or compressed (confirm with trial site)
  • You have a psychiatric or mental health condition, or a history of seizures
  • You have significant problems with your vision or hearing, or tremors that affect your balance
  • You have any other condition that affects your muscles or nerves
  • You have deformities of the foot or currently have open foot wounds/ulcers
  • You have previously had surgery on either of your legs
