Who may be able to join
- Adults between 18 and 75 years of age.
- People who have a confirmed diagnosis of Crohn's disease, supported by imaging, tissue sample, or camera examination of the gut, made at any point before the screening visit.
- People whose Crohn's disease is currently active, shown by a symptom score (called the CDAI) falling between 220 and 450 at the time of screening.
- People whose heart, kidney, and liver are functioning well enough, as determined by the trial doctor based on blood tests, a physical check-up, and medical history, without any concerns that would make participation risky.
- People who are willing and able to sign a written consent form agreeing to take part.
- People who agree to attend all required study visits, including up to three internal camera examinations of the gut.
Who may not be able to join
Each point below is a reason the trial team may not be able to accept someone. It is not a list of requirements to meet.
- People who have used certain targeted biological medicines (such as infliximab, adalimumab, ustekinumab, or vedolizumab) within the 8 weeks before screening.
- People who have taken antibiotic tablets or capsules, or any probiotic supplement, within the 4 weeks before screening.
- People who have had surgery to remove part of the intestine or any other operation related to Crohn's disease.
- People who have a history of, or are currently dealing with, a long-lasting or frequently returning infection.
- People who have had or currently have any form of cancer.
- People who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant during the study period.
