Who may be able to join
- Adults aged 18 to 75 years who have been diagnosed with a specific type of lung cancer (non-small cell lung cancer) that has spread locally or to other parts of the body (Stage IIIB to IVB), confirmed by a tissue biopsy.
- People whose lung cancer has a specific genetic change (mutation) that can be targeted by existing medicines — these include changes in the genes EGFR (19del or L858R), ALK, ROS1, RET (fusions), KRAS G12C, BRAF V600, or HER2 exon 20 insertions.
- People whose cancer got worse after receiving at least one targeted therapy (called a TKI), with a gap of at least two weeks since finishing that treatment or chemotherapy before joining the trial.
- People who have never received immunotherapy as part of their cancer treatment.
- People whose tumour tests positive for a marker called PD-L1 at 50% or higher, confirmed by a central laboratory using specific testing methods on tumour tissue collected within the past two years.
- People who are generally well enough to carry out daily activities, rated as ECOG Performance Status 0 or 1 (confirm with trial site).
- People who have at least one area of cancer that can be measured using standard imaging criteria (RECIST v1.1).
Who may not be able to join
Each point below is a reason the trial team may not be able to accept someone. It is not a list of requirements to meet.
- People who have previously been treated with a drug called QL1706 or similar investigational medicines that target PD-1, PD-L1, or CTLA-4, unless the trial protocol specifically allows it.
- People who have cancer that has spread to the brain and has not been treated, or is currently causing symptoms.
- People with a history of serious allergic reactions to monoclonal antibodies, platinum-based medicines, pemetrexed, bevacizumab, or ingredients in the study drugs.
- People with serious heart or blood vessel conditions, including blood pressure that cannot be controlled with medication, significant heart failure (NYHA class III or IV), unstable chest pain, a heart attack or stroke within the past 6 months, or irregular heartbeats that require treatment.
- People who have had an autoimmune condition (where the immune system attacks the body) that required ongoing medical treatment in the past 2 years, with some exceptions such as vitiligo, resolved childhood asthma, or a stable thyroid condition on replacement medication.
- People with an active infection requiring treatment, including active hepatitis B, hepatitis C, or HIV, unless the condition is well controlled according to the trial's specific requirements.
- People who have had significant coughing up of blood (2.5 mL or more of bright red blood) within the past 3 months, or who have a bleeding or clotting disorder that would make it unsafe to receive bevacizumab.
- People who have had major surgery within 4 weeks before starting the trial, or who are expected to need major surgery during the trial.
- Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- People with any other serious medical, mental health, or personal circumstances that the trial doctor believes could affect their safety, interfere with the study, or prevent them from giving informed consent.
