Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults aged 18 years or older who have been diagnosed with colorectal cancer confirmed by a laboratory tissue test
- People who are scheduled to have surgery for colorectal cancer, either using a keyhole (laparoscopic) approach or open surgery

- Both men and women are eligible

- People who are unable to understand what the study involves
- People who need emergency surgery
- People who take corticosteroid medications (such as prednisone or cortisone) on a long-term basis
