Who might be able to join this trial:

• Children between the ages of 2 and 5 years old
• Children who are scheduled for a planned (non-emergency) surgery that requires general anaesthesia
• Children who fall within a standard health classification range used by anaesthesiologists, covering generally healthy to those with some managed health conditions (confirm with trial site)
• Children whose parent or legal guardian is able to sign a written consent form
• Children whose parent is able to fill out a structured questionnaire written in Turkish

Who may not be able to join:

• Children who have been given, or are planned to receive, calming or sedating medication before their anxiety is assessed for the trial
• Children scheduled for emergency surgery
• Children who have a known developmental delay or neurodevelopmental condition
• Children who have a known psychiatric condition
• Children who have a vision or hearing impairment that could affect how their behaviour is observed and measured
• Children who regularly take sedating, antipsychotic, or anti-seizure medications
• Children who are expected to need intensive care after their surgery
• Cases where the questionnaire data is incomplete or considered unreliable
• Cases where a standard child anxiety observation assessment cannot be carried out before anaesthesia begins (confirm with trial site)
