Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with mild or moderate carpal tunnel syndrome
- People who are 18 years of age or older
- People who score at least a 3 in at least one category in both sections of a questionnaire called the Boston Carpal Tunnel Questionnaire (a standard tool used to measure carpal tunnel symptoms and how they affect daily life)
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are under 18 years of age
- People who are pregnant
- People whose carpal tunnel symptoms did not improve with wrist bracing/splinting
- People who have previously had carpal tunnel release surgery
- People who have been diagnosed with osteoporosis, bone infection (osteomyelitis), other bone diseases, severe rheumatoid arthritis, or other inflammatory joint conditions
- People who have metal implants or metal fragments in their body, as these are not compatible with MRI scanning
- People with severe claustrophobia that cannot be managed, as the trial involves MRI scanning
