Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults aged 18 years or older
- People who have a type of irregular heartbeat that comes and goes (called paroxysmal atrial fibrillation), and whose heart is in a normal rhythm at the start of the procedure
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose irregular heartbeat is continuous or has been ongoing for a long time (persistent or long-standing atrial fibrillation)
- People who have previously had a procedure to treat abnormal heart rhythms using ablation on the upper chambers of the heart
- People who have significant problems with one or more of their heart valves
- People who have previously had a procedure to close off a small pouch in the upper left chamber of the heart (called the left atrial appendage)
