Who may be able to join
- People who have been diagnosed with relapsing remitting or secondary progressive multiple sclerosis (RRMS or SPMS)
- People who are on MS medication (disease modifying therapy) and have been on a stable dose for at least 6 months
- People who are not on MS medication and have not taken any in the past 6 months
- People whose body mass index (BMI) falls between 18.5 and 50 (a measure of body weight relative to height)
- People who have access to a smartphone
- People who are responsible for planning their own meals, or who are able to have a say in when they eat
Who may not be able to join
Each point below is a reason the trial team may not be able to accept someone. It is not a list of requirements to meet.
- People who have had an MS relapse (a flare-up of symptoms) within the past 30 days
- People who are currently following a weight loss program, or who are not willing to follow the eating schedule assigned by the trial
- People who are currently using, or have used in the past 3 months, a GLP-1 medication (a type of medicine sometimes used for diabetes or weight management)
- People who already regularly go without eating for more than 12 hours a day
- People who work night shifts or rotating shifts
- People who are unable to walk 25 feet (about 7.5 metres) even with the help of a walking aid (confirm with trial site)
- People who are currently using insulin or a type of diabetes medication called sulfonylureas
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding
- People who are already enrolled in another trial that could affect the results of this study, such as an exercise or diet study
