Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged between 18 and 75 years who are willing to take part in the study
- People who have had shoulder pain for at least 3 months and have been diagnosed with primary frozen shoulder
- People whose pain rates at 4 out of 10 or higher on a pain scale, and whose pain has not improved with medication or painkillers
- People whose shoulder movement is significantly restricted — limited by 30 degrees or more in at least two directions of movement (such as lifting the arm forward, lifting it out to the side, or rotating it outward)
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have a history of shoulder injury or trauma
- People who have a neurological condition such as a stroke, a nerve injury to the shoulder area, Parkinson's disease, or a neck spine problem (with or without nerve involvement)
- People who have previously had shoulder surgery, a tumour or cancer involving the shoulder, or a procedure where the shoulder was manually moved under anaesthesia
- People who have shoulder arthritis, a rotator cuff tear, other shoulder injuries, or a condition called thoracic outlet syndrome
- People who have a whole-body disease that affects the shoulder, such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, or inflammatory joint diseases, or who have significant damage to the cartilage or lining of the shoulder joint
- People who have received a steroid injection into the affected arm within the last 3 months, are taking steroid tablets or anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs), or are currently receiving another surgical or procedural treatment for the shoulder
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding
- People who have uncontrolled diabetes, heart failure, or other uncontrolled whole-body conditions such as liver failure, chronic kidney disease, or significant hormone-related disorders
- People who have difficulty communicating or who have a severe psychiatric condition
