Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are between 18 and 75 years old
  • You have had shoulder pain for at least one month and have been diagnosed with primary frozen shoulder
  • Your pain level is at least 4 out of 10 on a pain scale
  • Your shoulder movement is significantly limited (restricted by 30 degrees or more) in at least two directions, such as raising your arm forward, out to the side, or rotating it outward
  • You do not meet any of the exclusion criteria listed below and are willing to take part voluntarily

Who may not be able to join:

  • You have had a shoulder injury in the past, or you have another condition causing pain and reduced function in your arm (such as tennis elbow or tendon problems in the hand or wrist)
  • You have a neurological condition such as a stroke, nerve damage in the shoulder area, Parkinson's disease, or a neck spine injury (with or without nerve-related symptoms)
  • You have had surgery on your shoulder, a tumour or cancer in or near the shoulder, or a procedure where the shoulder was forcibly moved under anaesthesia
  • You have shoulder arthritis, a torn rotator cuff, or a condition called thoracic outlet syndrome (confirm with trial site)
  • You have a whole-body disease affecting the shoulder, severe joint wear and tear, rheumatoid arthritis, or a history of injuries to the cartilage or socket lining of the shoulder
  • You have had a steroid injection into the affected arm in the last 3 months, or you are currently taking steroid tablets, anti-inflammatory painkillers (NSAIDs), or receiving any other treatment for this condition
  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • You have uncontrolled diabetes, heart failure, or another serious uncontrolled health condition such as liver disease, chronic kidney disease, or a significant hormonal disorder
  • You have difficulty communicating or have a severe psychiatric condition
  • You are allergic to anti-inflammatory painkillers (NSAIDs) or have any medical reason you cannot take them
  • You have a bleeding or clotting disorder, a stomach ulcer, or significant stomach inflammation
