Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with colon or rectal cancer, confirmed by a tissue sample taken during a camera examination of the bowel
- People at any stage of cancer spread, including cases where the cancer has or has not spread to other parts of the body, as long as surgery is being considered
- People with colon cancer where the treating doctor has recommended surgery with the goal of removing all the cancer, such as removal of part or all of the colon
- People with rectal cancer where the treating doctor has recommended either surgery straight away or chemotherapy and radiation treatment before surgery
- People aged between 18 and 75 years
- People who are willing and able to sign a written consent form before any study procedures begin
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose cancer is at a very early stage or whose tumour was almost completely removed during a previous bowel camera procedure
- People who have taken medications that affect the immune system in the past 6 months
- People who have been diagnosed with another type of cancer, either now or in the past (confirm with trial site)
- People who are unable or unwilling to give written consent to participate
- People who are unable or unwilling to attend follow-up appointments at the study hospital or clinic network
