Who may be able to join

  • People aged 18 or older
  • People with moderate-to-severe ulcerative colitis, measured using a standard scoring system called the clinical Mayo score (a score above 6, with an endoscopic — camera examination — score of 2 or 3)
  • People with moderate-to-severe Crohn's disease, measured using standard scoring tools (a Crohn's Disease Activity Index score above 220, and a bowel camera examination score of 7 or higher)
  • People currently being treated with one of these medications: adalimumab, infliximab, ustekinumab, or vedolizumab
  • People who have been on their current biologic medication for between 6 weeks and 12 months
  • People who have never previously received a biologic medication

Who may not be able to join

  • People who have previously been treated with a biologic medication before the current one
  • People whose medical records are incomplete or missing important treatment or outcome information
  • People taking another biologic medication or small-molecule therapy at the same time for another condition, such as a rheumatological (joint or immune system) disease

  • People who had gaps or breaks in their treatment during the 12-month period
