Who may be able to join

  • Children and adolescents aged 10 years up to (but not including) 18 years old at the time of their baseline visit
  • Body weight of at least 25 kg
  • A diagnosis of relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (a form of MS with periods of new symptoms followed by recovery) confirmed using recognised medical diagnostic guidelines
  • Neurologically stable for at least 30 days before the screening visit, and remaining stable between screening and the baseline visit
  • A disability score between 0 and 5.5 on a standard MS disability scale, measured at screening
  • All required childhood vaccinations completed, as recommended by local or national guidelines

Who may not be able to join

Each point below is a reason the trial team may not be able to accept someone. It is not a list of requirements to meet.

  • People who test positive for certain antibodies (AQP4 or MOG) that may indicate a different condition
  • People who have, or are suspected to have, another neurological condition that could look like MS
  • People with a history of, or known ongoing, repeated or long-term infections such as HIV, syphilis, or tuberculosis
  • People for whom injections under the skin are not suitable, for example due to having very little body fat under the skin
  • People with a known severe allergic or anaphylactic reaction to certain types of antibody-based medicines, or a known sensitivity to any ingredient in the study drug (ocrelizumab)
  • People who cannot take the required pre-medications (such as corticosteroids or antihistamines), for example those with closed-angle glaucoma which may prevent the use of antihistamines
  • People who have previously been treated with therapies that target B cells, including ocrelizumab (the study drug)
  • People who have previously received certain specific treatments, including alemtuzumab, anti-CD4, cladribine, mitoxantrone, daclizumab, laquinimod, total body irradiation, or bone marrow transplantation
  • People who have taken part in another clinical trial or received an experimental treatment within 24 weeks before screening, or within 5 half-lives of that treatment, whichever period is longer (confirm with trial site)
