Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged between 18 and 70 years.
- People who have had ongoing neck pain with arm pain following a nerve pathway in the neck for at least 3 months.
- People whose average pain level has been at least 4 out of 10 over the past 7 days.
- People who have been diagnosed with a chronic cervical nerve root problem caused by a disc herniation in the neck, confirmed by both a clinical examination and an MRI scan.
- People who have not had enough relief from standard treatments such as physical therapy, medication, or exercise therapy.
- People who are able to give written agreement to take part and follow the study procedures.
Who may not be able to join:
- People who show signs of spinal cord compression in the neck, or whose neurological symptoms are getting progressively worse.
- People where a serious spinal condition is suspected, such as an infection or cancer in the spine.
- People for whom a spinal injection would not be considered safe — for example, due to uncontrolled blood clotting problems, blood-thinning medication that has not been appropriately managed, or an active infection.
- People who are pregnant.
- People who have had previous neck surgery, or a steroid injection into the neck spine within a specified time period before the trial (confirm with trial site for exact timeframe).
- People with severe muscle, bone, or neurological conditions that could make it unsafe to take part in an exercise program.
- People whose symptoms do not clearly match what is shown on their imaging results.
