- People who have serious eye conditions beyond glaucoma that could significantly affect vision or make it difficult to measure the effect of the trial, such as advanced diabetic eye disease, advanced macular degeneration, or optic nerve damage from a cause other than glaucoma
- People whose cornea (the clear front surface of the eye) has a low cell count, specifically fewer than 1,500 cells per square millimetre, which may raise safety concerns for the planned procedure
- People with serious health conditions that would make surgery unsafe or make it difficult to attend follow-up appointments over the 12-month study period
