Who may be able to join
- Adults aged 18 or older, of any gender.
- People with a good general health and activity level, able to carry out normal daily activities with little or no limitation (a medical score called ECOG 0–1).
- People who have been diagnosed with a type of lung cancer called non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) that is at an advanced or metastatic stage and cannot be cured by surgery or radiation therapy.
- People who have at least one measurable area of cancer in the liver, as assessed by standard imaging guidelines.
- People whose lung cancer has previously been treated with a type of medication called EGFR-TKI therapy, and whose cancer has since continued to grow or spread despite that treatment.
- People with a life expectancy of at least 12 weeks.
- People whose blood counts, liver, kidneys, and heart are functioning at levels that meet the trial's specific requirements, as measured by blood tests and a heart scan — without having needed blood or other supportive treatments in the 2 weeks before starting the trial.
- Women who could become pregnant, and men whose partners could become pregnant, must be willing to use an approved method of contraception (such as an IUD, contraceptive pill, or condoms) during the trial and for 6 months after the last dose.
- People who are willing to take part voluntarily, sign a consent form, follow the study requirements, and attend all follow-up visits.
Who may not be able to join
Each point below is a reason the trial team may not be able to accept someone. It is not a list of requirements to meet.
- People whose lung cancer includes certain other cancer cell types, such as small cell lung cancer, neuroendocrine carcinoma, or carcinosarcoma.
- People who have previously been treated with therapies that target a protein called TROP2, or with a type of chemotherapy called topoisomerase I inhibitors.
- People who have had another cancer in the past 5 years, unless it was a fully cured early-stage cervical cancer, or a type of skin cancer (basal cell or squamous cell) that has been treated.
- People with active, symptomatic cancer spread to the brain or the lining of the brain, unless the condition has been treated, has been stable for at least 4 weeks, and steroid medications have been stopped for more than 3 days — or unless the brain metastases are small, symptom-free, and not requiring steroids (confirm with trial site).
- People with a known allergy to the study medications or their ingredients, a history of immune system deficiency, or a history of organ transplantation.
- People with a history of, or current, lung inflammation (interstitial lung disease or pneumonitis) that has required steroid treatment; or where such a condition cannot be ruled out on imaging; or people with serious breathing problems due to other lung conditions such as a recent blood clot in the lungs, severe asthma, severe chronic lung disease, restricted lung function, or certain autoimmune or inflammatory conditions affecting the lungs; or people who have had a lung removed.
- People who have had an active infection requiring treatment with medication throughout the body within 2 weeks before the first dose.
- People who, in the trial doctor's judgement, have other health conditions that could seriously affect their safety or ability to complete the study, such as uncontrolled high blood pressure or severe diabetes.
- People who have had a blood clot or stroke-related event — such as a mini-stroke, brain bleed, brain clot, deep vein thrombosis, or pulmonary embolism — within 12 weeks before signing the consent form.
- People with current active bleeding, a type of lung cancer that carries a risk of major bleeding, a bleeding disorder (such as von Willebrand disease or haemophilia), significant bleeding events in the 6 months before enrolment, or who have taken blood-thinning medications or aspirin within 14 days before enrolment.
- People who have had major surgery, an open biopsy, or a serious injury within 28 days before enrolment, or a minor surgical procedure within 7 days before enrolment.
- People with a documented history of severe dry eye syndrome, severe eyelid gland disease, severe inflammation of the eyelids, or a corneal condition that affects healing.
- People who, for any other reason, the trial doctor considers unsuitable for participation.
