Who may be able to join

  • People who have been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS)
  • People who are 18 years of age or older
  • People who speak fluent English

Who may not be able to join

Each point below is a reason the trial team may not be able to accept someone. It is not a list of requirements to meet.

  • People who have significant mental health conditions, major depression, or psychiatric illness as assessed by the neurology team, or who score 11 or higher on a standard depression questionnaire called the PHQ-9
  • People who have a neurological condition other than MS, or a medical condition that affects memory or thinking — such as Alzheimer's disease or a history of stroke
  • People who are currently taking medications that affect mood or thinking (such as Aricept or Adderall), or who are currently misusing substances
  • People who are professional musicians, defined as having two or more years of formal music training in the past five years, or currently playing a musical instrument for two or more hours per week
  • People with serious vision or hearing difficulties that would prevent them from completing assessments, including colour blindness, given that the assessment tool used in this trial involves a range of colours
