Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You have been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease that does not have a known cause (called "idiopathic" Parkinson's disease)
  • Your Parkinson's medication has not changed for at least 4 weeks before the study begins

Who may not be able to join:

  • You currently take beta-blocker medications (a type of medicine often used for heart conditions or high blood pressure)
  • You have consistently very high blood pressure (180/110 mmHg or above when measured sitting down)
  • You have a serious heart rhythm problem that is not well controlled
  • You have unstable angina (chest pain caused by reduced blood flow to the heart that is not well managed)
  • You have congestive heart failure (a condition where the heart does not pump blood as well as it should)
  • You have previously had a heart attack
  • You have a history of seizures
  • You have severe problems with memory, thinking, or understanding
  • You are pregnant or planning to become pregnant
