Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are 18 years of age or older
  • You have been diagnosed with cardiac amyloidosis (a condition where a protein called amyloid builds up in the heart) according to recognised medical guidelines
  • You have a pacemaker implanted in your heart (with or without a defibrillator)
  • Your pacemaker is set to a specific mode that matches your heart rhythm (your doctor can confirm if your device settings qualify)
  • Your heart's main pumping chamber (left ventricle) is not enlarged, as confirmed by an ultrasound of the heart
  • You are able to read and sign a consent form agreeing to take part
  • You are able to speak and understand English

Who may not be able to join:

  • Your pacemaker produces a heartbeat signal that is too wide (over 150 milliseconds) on a heart tracing (ECG), which may suggest the pacemaker is causing the heart to beat in an uncoordinated way
  • Your heart's main pumping chamber (left ventricle) is enlarged
