Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults between 18 and 75 years of age who are already scheduled to have a planned (non-emergency) colonoscopy
- People who have a standard medical reason for needing a colonoscopy
- People who are able to understand and follow the bowel preparation instructions, including drinking a required amount of a laxative solution called polyethylene glycol (PEG)
- People who are able to attend follow-up appointments and take part in data collection as required by the study
- People who are willing and able to give written consent to participate
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have previously been diagnosed with bowel cancer, a blocked bowel, or a suspected blocked bowel
- People who are currently experiencing bleeding in their digestive system, or who have had confirmed digestive bleeding (such as black stools, blood in stools, or vomiting blood) in the past 4 weeks
- People with serious kidney problems, severe heart failure, significant imbalances in body salts (electrolytes), or other health conditions that make the PEG bowel preparation unsuitable for them
- People who have a known allergy to polyethylene glycol or to any ingredient in the electrolyte drink used in the study
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding
- People whom the trial investigators consider unsuitable for the study for any other reason (confirm with trial site)
