Who may be able to join
- People who have a confirmed diagnosis of ulcerative colitis (UC), established through standard clinical and endoscopic testing.
- People with mild-to-moderate active UC, as measured by a specific symptom scoring tool (SCCAI score between 5 and 11), who also meet one of the following conditions: their UC has not responded well to a standard medication called 5-ASA (meaning they still have rectal bleeding after 2 weeks or did not get lasting symptom relief after 40 days of proper 5-ASA treatment); or they are dependent on steroid medications and cannot reduce the dose below a certain level without their disease flaring up again within 3 months; and they are currently taking a medication called azathioprine.
