• You must be a permanent resident with a local household registration in a rural area of China.
• You must be between 65 and 80 years old.

• People whose heart problems are caused by certain treatable conditions — such as an overactive thyroid, severe anaemia, or an uncorrected heart defect present from birth — may not be eligible.
• People who have been told they need a pacemaker but have not yet had one fitted may not be eligible.
• People who have a chronic lung disease (COPD) that has led to a serious type of breathing failure (confirm with trial site) may not be eligible.
• People with mental health conditions may not be eligible.
