Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are between 18 and 65 years old (any sex)
- You have been diagnosed with high uric acid levels in your blood (called primary hyperuricemia), with levels in a specific range — either 420–540 μmol/L if you have no other health conditions, or 420–480 μmol/L if you also have at least one of the following: high blood pressure, high cholesterol or fats in the blood, diabetes, obesity, stroke, coronary heart disease, heart failure, or moderate-to-advanced kidney disease (confirm with trial site)
- You have high uric acid levels but have never had a gout attack and have never taken medication to lower uric acid
- You are willing to take part voluntarily and sign a consent form
Who may not be able to join:
- You have a known allergy or sensitivity to any of the study medications, foods, or their ingredients
- You have active liver disease, liver scarring (cirrhosis), or certain abnormal liver test results
- You currently have an active infection or active stomach/intestinal ulcers
- You have a history of thyroid problems
- Your kidneys are not working well enough, based on a specific kidney function test result (confirm with trial site)
- You have serious heart problems, such as severe heart failure, unstable chest pain, or a heart attack in the past 12 months
- You have certain kidney structural problems, such as kidney cysts or blockages in the urinary tract
- You have rheumatoid arthritis requiring treatment, or joint disease from another cause
