Who may be able to join

For people with IBD (the "Affected Participant" group):

  • Adults between 18 and 85 years of age.
  • People who have a confirmed diagnosis of Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, or inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) linked to another existing condition, supported by medical records, imaging, scope findings, or tissue samples showing long-term gut inflammation; and/or people who carry a known gene change or genetic condition associated with a higher risk of IBD, with or without current symptoms.
  • People who have a doctor in their local community who can manage their ongoing care outside of the study site.

For unaffected family members of enrolled participants:

  • A close biological relative (parent, brother, sister, or adult child) of someone already enrolled in the trial may also be invited to join, to help researchers better understand genetic results or the range of IBD features seen in families.
  • Adults between 18 and 99 years of age.
  • People who are in good general health.
  • People who have not been medically diagnosed with IBD.

Who may not be able to join

Each point below is a reason the trial team may not be able to accept someone. It is not a list of requirements to meet.

  • People who are unable or unwilling to give their informed consent to take part in the study.
  • People who have other significant health conditions that the research team believes may interfere with the study's tests and procedures.
