Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged 18 to 85 years of any gender who are able to act independently
- People who have been diagnosed with diabetes and have developed nerve-related symptoms either at the time of diagnosis or afterward, such as numbness, tingling, burning, cold sensations, or pain in the limbs, with or without changes in reflexes or the ability to feel vibration, sharp pressure, temperature, or touch
- People who are able to complete a specific nerve assessment questionnaire called the TCSS (confirm with trial site for details)
- People who understand the full trial process, are willing to take part, and agree to sign a consent form
- People whose nerve symptoms have not improved enough after trying mecobalamin (a form of vitamin B12) or other standard medications
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose nerve problems are caused by something other than diabetes, such as spine conditions, vitamin B12 deficiency, an underactive thyroid, alcohol use, medication side effects, or certain nerve diseases like Guillain-Barré syndrome
- People with a bleeding disorder or a malignant (cancerous) tumour
- People who have had an amputation below the knee
- People with broken or infected skin at the area where treatment would be applied, or who have metal implants or a pacemaker in their body
- People with seriously reduced kidney function, or severe heart or liver problems, or those whose thinking and memory difficulties would prevent them from cooperating with the trial
- People who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant
- People who have taken part in another interventional clinical trial within the past 3 months
- People with a severe psychiatric (mental health) condition
- People whose overall health situation the trial investigator considers would prevent them from completing the trial
- People who are unlikely to follow the trial requirements consistently
