Who might be able to join this trial:

  • Adults between 18 and 85 years old, of any gender
  • People who have been diagnosed with diabetic nerve damage in the legs (diabetic peripheral neuropathy), where at least one nerve in the lower limb is also being squeezed or trapped, causing symptoms such as numbness, tingling, pain, weakness, or foot drop in a specific area
  • People whose nerve entrapment diagnosis has been confirmed by both a physical examination and either a nerve conduction test or a nerve ultrasound scan showing the nerve is compressed at a specific point
  • People whose symptoms have not improved enough with standard medications such as mecobalamin or alpha-lipoic acid
  • People who have read and understood the full study process and have agreed in writing to take part

Who may not be able to join:

  • People whose leg nerve symptoms are considered by the doctor to be mainly caused by something other than diabetes, such as spine problems (like a trapped nerve in the back or neck), poor circulation in the legs, stroke, thyroid problems, vitamin B12 deficiency, heavy alcohol use, recent chemotherapy or radiotherapy, medication side effects, or other non-diabetic nerve conditions
  • People who currently have cancer, a serious active infection, or an immune system disease
  • People who have swelling (fluid build-up) in either leg, from any cause
  • People who have broken skin or an infection on the lower leg or foot in the area where treatment would be applied
  • People with serious heart, liver, or kidney problems — specifically, kidneys functioning at a significantly reduced level, liver enzyme levels more than 2.5 times the normal upper limit, or heart failure of a certain severity (confirm with trial site for exact thresholds)
  • People with significant memory or thinking difficulties, or a severe mental health condition
  • People who are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • People who have taken part in another interventional clinical trial within the past 3 months
  • People the trial doctor considers unlikely to follow the study schedule fully
  • People with any other condition the trial doctor considers would make completing the trial unsuitable for them
