Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have had radiating nerve pain lasting between 12 weeks and 1 year, with no severe flare-up in the past 4 weeks
- People whose pain travels down one side of the body from the lower back, reaching the thigh, knee, or lower leg
- People whose physical assessment shows a positive result on a nerve tension test called the Slump Test
- People whose physical assessment shows a positive result on a leg-raising test (Straight Leg Raise) where symptoms appear when the leg is raised above 45 degrees
- People whose pain limits everyday activities such as walking or lifting
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose body mass index (a measure of body weight relative to height) is below 20 or above 30
- People who have previously had surgery on their spine
- People who show warning signs such as significant muscle weakness, loss of sensation, changes in reflexes, or problems with bladder or bowel control
- People who have a condition affecting the nerves in their arms or legs unrelated to the spine (peripheral neuropathy)
- People with a history of a broken bone in the spine, or a serious injury to the spine or limbs
- People who have ongoing health conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, or kidney disease
- People showing worsening nerve-related symptoms such as increasing muscle weakness, growing areas of numbness, or changing reflexes
- People who are pregnant
