Who might be able to join this trial:

• You must be able to understand the study and be willing to sign a consent form agreeing to take part.
• You must be between 40 and 80 years old (male or female).
• You must have a diagnosis of Parkinson's disease, either confirmed using a specific standard set of criteria (UK Parkinson's Disease Society Brain Bank criteria), or a documented diagnosis along with a specific type of brain implant device (called a Percept RC deep brain stimulator) placed in one of two particular areas of the brain.
• You must be willing to follow the sleep study schedule, which includes turning off your brain stimulator device for one night.
• You must score 23 or higher on a standard memory and thinking test called the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA).
• You must be willing to stop taking any sleep medications (such as benzodiazepines or Ambien) for at least 3 days before the study.

Who may not be able to join:

• People with a history of serious heart or cardiovascular disease, or untreated sleep apnea (a condition where breathing repeatedly stops during sleep).
• People with other neurological conditions affecting the brain or nervous system, such as stroke, multiple sclerosis, brain tumors, ALS, or muscle diseases like muscular dystrophy or myopathy.
• People who have been diagnosed with dementia.
• People who have changed their Parkinson's medication in the past month.
