Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome in one hand, confirmed by a specialist doctor using a physical examination and nerve testing (EMG).
- People whose carpal tunnel syndrome has been classified as mild to moderate in severity.
- People whose symptoms have been present for at least 12 weeks.
- People who score above 24 on a standard memory and thinking assessment called the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE).

Who may not be able to join:
- People who have previously had surgery to treat carpal tunnel syndrome.
- People who have previously had a corticosteroid (steroid) injection into the affected hand or wrist.
- People who have received physiotherapy treatment for carpal tunnel syndrome within the past 6 months.
- People who have any nerve-related signs or symptoms in the arm or hand that are not related to carpal tunnel syndrome.
- People who have had any previous surgery on the hand or wrist for a condition other than carpal tunnel syndrome.
- People who have been diagnosed with any condition affecting the nervous system throughout the body.
- People who have been diagnosed with a rheumatic disease, such as rheumatoid arthritis or lupus.
- People who have ongoing pain in the arm or hand caused by any other condition.
