  • People who are between 18 and 65 years of age.
  • People whose main disability affects movement and who fall within a specific range on a standard MS disability scale (EDSS score of 2 to 6 — confirm with trial site if unsure where this places you).

  • People who are able to attend regular outpatient physiotherapy sessions and are motivated to take part in the programme.
  • People who are able and willing to complete three rounds of clinical assessments and three MRI scans.

Who may not be able to join

Each point below is a reason the trial team may not be able to accept someone. It is not a list of requirements to meet.

  • People who have other conditions that affect their ability to move, such as serious injuries, bone or joint problems, or other neurological conditions.
  • People who have an active inflammatory condition or infection at the time the programme is due to start, which could affect their safety or the results.
  • People who have changed their MS or steroid treatment in the past month, or who have a treatment change planned during the programme.
  • People who cannot have an MRI scan, for example due to being in the first trimester of pregnancy, or having a pacemaker, defibrillator, older metal joint replacements, or other metal implants in their body.
  • People who plan to be away for an extended period during the programme, such as for a holiday or a surgical procedure.
