Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are between 25 and 75 years old
- You have been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease (with no known outside cause)
- You have had a specific type of brain stimulation device (called a Percept deep brain stimulator) surgically implanted at least 2 months before joining the study
- You do not have significant memory or thinking problems, as shown by a score of 24 or higher on a standard memory test called the MoCA
- You are willing and able to sign a consent form agreeing to take part
- You are able to attend follow-up visits for brain activity recording, stimulation testing, and health checks
- You have been using your brain stimulator in its standard mode for at least 2 months but still have noticeable movement problems, and you are currently using or have been recommended a more advanced stimulation mode to help manage those problems
- You have at least one day's worth of recorded brain activity and stimulation data available from your device
- If you move into the clinical trial phase, you must be willing to temporarily switch back to your original stimulator settings during required tests
Who may not be able to join:
- You have been diagnosed with a movement disorder caused by psychological rather than physical reasons
- You have significant untreated depression, a history of a suicide attempt, or current thoughts of suicide (as measured by standard screening tools)
- You have personality or mood-related symptoms that the study team believes could make it difficult for you to meet the study's requirements
