Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People aged 18 to 75 years, of any sex
  • People who have been diagnosed with a specific type of pancreatic cancer called pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), confirmed through laboratory testing of tissue, and who have not yet received any treatment for it
  • People from whom enough fresh tumour tissue can be collected through surgery or biopsy to grow laboratory models called organoids (tiny tumour replicas used for testing)
  • People who are planned to receive chemotherapy — either as a single drug or a combination — before possible surgery, to try to make a tumour operable, or as a first treatment for cancer that has spread
  • People who have at least one tumour that can be measured on a scan, according to standard measurement guidelines
  • People who are reasonably physically well and able to carry out daily activities, based on a standard medical rating scale (ECOG score of 0, 1, or 2) (confirm with trial site)
  • People with a life expectancy of at least 3 months
  • People whose blood counts and organ function (including liver, kidneys, and bone marrow) meet the required health levels, as assessed through blood tests (confirm with trial site for specific values)
  • People who are willing to give written consent to participate and are able to attend follow-up appointments as required

Who may not be able to join:

  • People whose tumour tissue sample is not of sufficient quantity, quality, or condition to be used in the trial
  • People whose tumour tissue sample would take more than 24 hours to reach the laboratory, including samples stored overnight before being sent
  • People whose organoid (laboratory tumour model) fails to grow successfully, or whose test results do not meet quality standards
  • People who are not able to tolerate chemotherapy treatment
  • People with serious other health conditions, uncontrolled medical problems, or active infections
  • People who are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • People with a history of severe autoimmune disease (where the immune system attacks the body)
  • People with any unstable health condition that could affect their safety or ability to participate in the trial
  • People considered unsuitable for the trial by the supervising doctor
