Who might be able to join this trial:
- Children between 2 and 6 years of age
- Children who are scheduled to have a planned (non-emergency) surgical procedure
- Children whose surgery will be performed under general anesthesia
- Children who are classified as generally healthy or having only a mild health condition, based on a standard medical assessment scale (ASA physical status I or II)
- Children who are able to communicate in Turkish and follow simple verbal instructions
- Children whose parent or legal guardian has provided written consent for participation
- Children for whom no calming or sedating medications are planned before surgery
- Children who do not have a serious ongoing health condition and are not currently taking sedative or mind-affecting medications
Who may not be able to join:
- Children with a history of developmental delay, psychiatric illness, or a significant behavioural disorder
- Children with significant vision or hearing difficulties that affect their ability to communicate
- Children who have taken sedative, sleep-inducing, or mind-affecting medications within the past 2 weeks
- Children who require calming medications before or during surgery
- Children with a serious health condition, or those rated ASA physical status III or above on a standard medical scale
- Children who experience a complication, unexpected change, or cancellation during their surgery or anesthesia
- Children whose parent or legal guardian is unable to provide written consent
- Children who are unable to follow the study procedures or complete the video-based component of the trial (confirm with trial site)
