Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are 19 years of age or older
- People whose eye being studied has been diagnosed with swelling at the centre of vision (macular edema) caused by a blockage in a branch vein of the retina (BRVO) within the past 12 months, or a blockage in the central vein of the retina (CRVO) within the past 9 months
- People whose eye being studied shows a retinal thickness measurement of 300 micrometres or more on a specialised eye scan (OCT) taken at the screening visit
- People whose eye being studied has a vision level measured between 34 and 68 letters on a standard eye chart test at the screening visit — roughly equivalent to seeing between 20/200 and 20/50 on a Snellen chart
- People who have been fully informed about the trial and have given their written consent to take part
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose eye being studied has an underlying condition that makes meaningful vision improvement considered highly unlikely, regardless of treatment
- People whose eye being studied has swelling caused by a membrane growing over the retina (epiretinal membrane), or where vision improvement is considered highly unlikely even if the swelling reduces
- People whose eye being studied has uncontrolled glaucoma with eye pressure of 25mmHg or higher despite receiving treatment at the time of screening
- People whose eye being studied has significant cloudiness or obstruction inside the eye, such as a cloudy cornea, cataracts, or bleeding in the gel of the eye (vitreous hemorrhage)
