Who might be able to join this trial:

Treatment Group:

• People who are receiving care for HIV at one of the twelve participating clinics in the DC Cohort
• People who are 18 years old or older, or younger people who manage their own HIV care independently and are able to understand and sign a consent form
• Younger people (minors) whose parent or legal guardian provides consent on their behalf

Prevention Group:

• People who are taking HIV prevention or post-exposure medications (such as PrEP medications like TDF/FTC, Descovy, or Apretude) without having HIV or Hepatitis B themselves
• People taking a medication called Doxycycline within 72 hours after unprotected sex as a prevention measure (sometimes called DoxyPEP), where it is clearly not being used as a treatment course
• People who have tested positive for one or more bacterial sexually transmitted infections (such as gonorrhoea, chlamydia, or syphilis requiring treatment) in the past year, with at least two STI tests and two HIV tests across separate visits
• People who ask their doctor about starting PrEP or post-exposure prevention medications at a clinic visit
• People who identify as injecting drug users
• People whose medical record includes a specific code for an HIV prevention consultation (confirm with trial site)

Who may not be able to join:

• People who are unable to provide informed consent, or who choose not to
• Young people aged 12 to 17 who do not know their own HIV status
