  • If you are HIV-positive, you have had an active serious HIV-related infection within the last 30 days, or have not finished treatment for such an infection at least 14 days before joining (people on ongoing preventive treatment may still be eligible)
  • Your blood does not clot normally, based on specific blood test results showing low platelet count or abnormal clotting levels (confirm with trial site)
  • You have told doctors that you have a bleeding disorder
  • You currently have an untreated syphilis infection
  • You have an abnormal neurological (brain or nervous system) examination, if you are planning to take part in the spinal fluid collection part of the study
  • You have a positive pregnancy test at screening
  • You have a history of a medical or psychiatric condition that, in the doctor's opinion, would make it difficult for you to follow the study plan or give informed consent
