Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been treated at Mayo Clinic and have been diagnosed with a spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD) — a type of tear in a heart artery
- Women who were pregnant or had given birth within the past 12 months at the time of their SCAD event
- People who identify as Black/African American, Asian, American Indian or Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander, or any person of Hispanic ethnicity, as these groups are currently underrepresented in the registry
- Men who have had a SCAD event
- People who were younger than 30 years old at the time of their SCAD event
- People whose SCAD event happened within the past 2 weeks
- People with SCAD who are already enrolled in another Mayo Clinic SCAD research study
- People with SCAD who have a family member who has also had a SCAD event
Who may not be able to join:
- People with a history of SCAD who do not meet any of the inclusion criteria listed above will not be enrolled at this time (confirm with trial site)
A note for those who don't currently meet the criteria: People with a history of SCAD who are interested but do not meet the current criteria may have the option to leave their contact details so the trial site can reach out about future Mayo Clinic SCAD studies.
