Who might be able to join this trial:

• You have been diagnosed with bowel cancer (colon or rectal cancer) that has been confirmed by a tissue sample (biopsy).
• Scans (PET/CT and CT or MRI of the chest, abdomen, and pelvis) show the cancer has not spread outside the liver, and there is no sign of the original cancer coming back.
• A camera examination or scan of the bowel within the last 12 months shows no signs of the cancer returning at the original site.
• You are generally well and able to carry out daily activities with little or no limitation (confirm with trial site what this means for you).
• Your blood test results meet certain levels for red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, liver function, kidney function, and protein levels (confirm specific values with trial site).
• If you had rectal cancer, your surgery removed the cancer with a safe margin of healthy tissue around it.
• You have given written agreement to take part and are willing to attend follow-up appointments.
• You have already received at least 3 cycles (about 6 weeks) of chemotherapy, and your cancer has not grown during that treatment.

Additional criteria depending on which part of the trial you may join:

• Part A: You have six or more liver tumours that could technically be removed by surgery.
• Part B: Your liver tumours appeared more than 12 months after your bowel cancer diagnosis and/or after finishing any earlier preventative chemotherapy; your original bowel cancer had not spread to nearby lymph nodes; a specific blood marker (CEA) was below a certain level at diagnosis and when the liver tumours were found; your liver tumours cannot be fully removed by surgery; before starting your first round of chemotherapy, no single tumour was larger than 10 cm and you had 20 or fewer tumours in total; and your tumours shrank by at least 10% with your first chemotherapy.
• Part C: Your liver tumours cannot be fully removed by surgery; you have already had one course of chemotherapy; before starting your second or third course of chemotherapy, no single tumour was larger than 10 cm and you had 20 or fewer tumours in total; your tumours shrank by at least 10% on your second or third chemotherapy; and it has been at least two years since your original bowel cancer diagnosis and the date you were added to the transplant waiting list.
• Part D: Without a liver transplant, your doctors expect you may have around 6 to 12 months to live; you may be included without needing further chemotherapy first; and you may have lung tumours that could potentially be removed by surgery.

Who may not be able to join:

• You have lost more than 10% of your body weight in the last 6 months.
• Your Body Mass Index (BMI) is over 30 (confirm with trial site).
• You have or have had another type of cancer.
• Your cancer has previously spread to areas outside the liver, or the original bowel cancer has previously come back.
• You did not receive the standard recommended treatments before, during, or after your original bowel cancer surgery.
• Your original bowel cancer surgery was carried out only to relieve symptoms, rather than to attempt a cure.
• You have already taken part in this trial before.
• The trial doctor has any other concern about whether it is appropriate for you to participate.
